What are functional, vital mushrooms?

Mushroom gels contain extracts from so-called vital mushrooms - shiitake, reishi and coneflower. In addition to valuable nutrients, vital mushrooms contain bioactive substances that support the body's work and often have therapeutic properties. It has been scientifically proven that active substances isolated from the mentioned mushrooms:

  • Support cognitive function and brain function
  • Add energy and vitality
  • Stimulate immunity
  • Have an anti-inflammatory effect
  • Support the work of the nervous system
  • Increase resistance to stress
  • Show anticancer potential
  • Inhibit aging processes

In addition to the aforementioned, each mushroom has additional individual medicinal properties.

Mushrooms have accompanied man since the dawn of time as food but also as a medicine or psychoactive substance. Vikings, thanks to the power of mushrooms, changed their state of consciousness becoming invincible berserkers in battle.

Shamans used the properties of mushrooms in religious ceremonies but also by treating diseases of the local community. Modern medicine also draws on mushrooms to the fullest - antibiotics, after all, are a huge group of drugs largely isolated precisely from fungi and molds.

Mushrooms such as shiitake, reishi, yamabushiitake also called coneflower, cordyceps or chaga have been successfully used in Far Eastern medicine for thousands of years. These mushrooms not only provide valuable nutrients, but also have properties that strengthen the health of the body, delay aging and often effectively support the treatment of many diseases.

In addition to vitamins and minerals, functional mushrooms also contain bioactive substances that affect physical, cognitive and mental functions.

Among them are polysaccharides known for their immune-boosting properties, phenolic polyphenols, flavonoids and anthocyanins with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, triterpenes with anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory effects, and sterols such as ergosterol, which has beneficial effects on the heart and the entire circulatory system.

Hedgehog soplolly - lion's mane

Hedgehog soprano, also known as Lion's Mane or Yamabushitake, is a mushroom with many health benefits. Which have been scientifically proven.
This mushroom contains erinaceins and hericenones - substances that, by stimulating the production of the nerve growth factor NGF, contribute to the regeneration of neurons and improve working memory, cognitive function, learning ability and permanent memory.

Thanks to its effect on serotonin and dopamine levels, it has a beneficial effect on mood and reduces anxiety.

By increasing the production of prostaglandins that protect the stomach and intestines, it supports the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers and also the therapy of inflammatory bowel diseases.

Reishi

Reishi is one of the most revered mushrooms in traditional Chinese medicine, its effects have been used for more than 4,000 years. It contains many active substances, including polysaccharides, peptides, triterpenes. Reishi exhibits immune system-boosting effects, stimulating immune cells to fight viruses and cancer cells while regulating the inflammatory response. Thanks to these properties, it reduces the frequency of infections and simultaneously reduces allergy-related symptoms. It also shows anticancer potential.

Reishi and more specifically its polysaccharides contribute to the maintenance of normal cardiovascular function - they naturally help lower cholesterol and regulate blood pressure.

Shiitake

Shiitake or Japanese sclerotia is another mushroom widely used in Far Eastern medicine. Like soplolly and reishi, it contains a whole range of nutrients and bioactive substances. Thanks to its erythadenine content, it lowers cholesterol, reduces inflammation which prevents atherosclerosis. One of the beta glucans found in shiitake - lentinan - has been shown to stimulate cellular immunity, which is beneficial in the fight against viruses or cancer cells.
