Oyster mushrooms – natural support for your health

Properties of oyster mushroom

Oyster mushroom is an adaptogen which, thanks to the beta-glucans it contains, first of all supports the proper functioning of the immune system [1] . It helps increase the number of immune cells and the concentration of cytokines, which is crucial for protection against infections.

Oyster mushroom and free radicals

Oyster mushroom is also an excellent support in the fight against free radicals. The substances it contains have antioxidant properties [2] , which means they help the body properly deal with oxidative stress [3] . This is crucial for protecting cells from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are molecules containing unpaired electrons, which makes them very reactive and capable of damaging cells. The antioxidants in oyster mushrooms neutralize free radicals, helping to protect cells from damage. Additionally, oyster mushroom supports the body in repairing already damaged cells, which is important for maintaining a high level of health.

Oyster mushroom, cholesterol and liver

Oyster mushroom also helps maintain normal cholesterol levels [4] . It contains lovastin [5] , an organic chemical compound that contributes to the reduction of cholesterol synthesis in the liver. Additionally, oyster mushroom contains chrysin [6] , which helps maintain the proper level of glucose, lipids and liver enzymes, thus supporting the proper functioning of the liver and promoting its regeneration.

Oyster mushrooms – diet and recipes

Adding oyster mushroom in the form of BIO extract to your diet is an excellent way to support your health. You can use it in various cooking recipes and enjoy its taste and health benefits. Oyster mushroom supports the proper functioning of the immune system, helps fight free radicals, helps maintain cholesterol at the appropriate level and supports liver health. This is a valuable mushroom that is worth including in your daily diet for better well-being and health.

On the European continent, the mushroom was first described in 1775 by NJ Freiherr , a Danish naturalist, who gave it the name Agaricus Dobrzeatus, although today it is better known as Pleurotus Dobrzeatus.

Words written with a capital letter are terms derived from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). They have a different meaning than similar terms used in Western medicine. For example, the term "Stomach" in the context of TCM means the entire process associated with digestion and metabolism, and not merely the designation of a specific anatomical organ. However, concepts such as "Qi" or "Essence" do not exist in Western medicine and have no equivalents there.
