What are vital mushrooms?

Mushroom jellies contain extracts from the so-called vital mushrooms – shiitake, reishi and erinacea. In addition to valuable nutrients, vital mushrooms contain bioactive substances that support the functioning of the body and often have therapeutic properties. It has been scientifically proven that active substances isolated from the mentioned mushrooms:

  • They support cognitive functions and brain function
  • They add energy and vitality
  • They stimulate immunity
  • They have anti-inflammatory properties
  • They support the functioning of the nervous system
  • They increase resistance to stress
  • They show anti-cancer potential
  • They inhibit aging processes

In addition to those mentioned above, each mushroom has additional individual medicinal properties.

Mushrooms have accompanied humans since the dawn of time as food, but also as medicine or psychoactive substances. Thanks to the power of mushrooms, the Vikings changed their state of consciousness, becoming invincible berserkers in battle.

Shamans used the properties of mushrooms during religious ceremonies but also when treating diseases of the local community. Modern medicine also draws heavily on mushrooms - antibiotics are a huge group of drugs largely isolated from fungi and molds.

Mushrooms such as shiitake, reishi, yamabushiitake, also known as erinacea, cordyceps and chaga have been successfully used in Far Eastern medicine for thousands of years. These mushrooms not only provide valuable nutrients, but also have properties that strengthen the body's health, delay aging and often effectively support the treatment of many diseases.

In addition to vitamins and minerals, functional mushrooms also contain bioactive substances that influence physical, cognitive and mental functions.

These include polysaccharides known for their immune-boosting properties, phenolic polyphenols, flavonoids and anthocyanins with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, triterpenes with anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties, and sterols, e.g. ergosterol, which has a beneficial effect on the heart and the entire circulatory system.

Lion's mane

Lion's Mane, also known as Lion's Mane or Yamabushitake, is a mushroom with many health benefits.
Which have been scientifically proven. This mushroom contains erinaceins and hericenones - substances that, by stimulating the production of NGF nerve growth factor, contribute to the regeneration of neurons and improvement of working memory, cognitive functions, learning and lasting memory.

Thanks to its influence on serotonin and dopamine levels, it has a positive effect on mood and reduces anxiety.

By increasing the production of prostaglandins that protect the stomach and intestines, it supports the treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers as well as the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases.

Reishi

Reishi is one of the most valued mushrooms in traditional Chinese medicine, its effects have been used for over 4,000 years. It contains many active substances, including polysaccharides, peptides, triterpenes. Reishi has a strengthening effect on the immune system, stimulating immune cells to fight viruses and cancer cells while regulating the inflammatory response. Thanks to these properties, it reduces the frequency of infections and at the same time reduces allergy-related symptoms. It also has anti-cancer potential.

Reishi, and more specifically its polysaccharides, contribute to maintaining the proper functioning of the circulatory system - they naturally help reduce cholesterol levels and regulate blood pressure.

Shiitake

Shiitake is another mushroom widely used in Far Eastern medicine. Like lysium and reishi, it contains a whole range of nutrients and bioactive substances. Thanks to the content of erytadenine, it lowers cholesterol levels, reduces inflammation, which prevents atherosclerosis. One of the beta glucans that can be found in shiitake - lentinan, has a stimulating effect on cellular immunity, which has a beneficial effect on the fight against viruses and cancer cells.
