The endocannabinoid system (ECS) plays an important role in the pathophysiology of psychotic disorders. Hemp cannabinoids have the ability to regulate the functioning of this system, which is why the potential antipsychotic properties of CBD are the subject of scientific research in many research centers around the world. Scientists pay attention to various types and stages of psychotic disorders (including schizophrenia). They are checking the potential benefits of using CBD also in people who experience psychotic episodes in the course of other diseases, e.g. Parkinson's disease. Let's look at selected research results.

Hemp, also known as industrial hemp, can be seen by some people as a controversial plant, but it doesn't need to be.
The hemp plant is a variety of Cannabis sativa that has been cultivated for its fiber, not any psychoactive effects. Many strains of hemp have none of the mental effects associated with cannabis. This type of industrial hemp has been used as a fiber source, for oil, and as an important source of nutrition for thousands of years.
When it comes to nutrition, hemp seeds are the most important part of the plant. The seeds can be eaten whole or without the hull. They can also be turned into milk that's similar to soy milk. Hemp seed oil can be used as a cooking oil in the same way as olive oil. There are even hemp seed supplements available in case you want to enjoy some of the impressive health benefits of hemp in your diet.
Cannabis for endometriosis – how can it help?
It is estimated that 5 to 30 percent of women of reproductive age struggle with endometriosis, which is approximately 180 million women worldwide (including approximately 1 million Polish women). The pain and other ailments that accompany the disease negatively affect the quality of functioning of patients, their mental well-being and life satisfaction. Diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis are complex and long-term. Research on the possibility of using CBD and other hemp cannabinoids in patients with endometriosis has been conducted for years. The results of studies involving patients confirm the beneficial effects of CBD in endometriosis.
Researchers have clarified the mechanism of action of CBD in inflammation
Scientists from the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, in cooperation with researchers from Italy, Austria and the USA, have identified the mechanism of anti-inflammatory action of hemp cannabinoids. The anti-inflammatory properties of cannabidiol and other hemp cannabinoids have previously been observed in scientific research, but only now have researchers clarified the exact way these compounds work on the immune system.
What is PTSD? CBD as a support for the treatment of post-traumatic stress.
Post-traumatic stress - PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is a set of symptoms that develop in approximately 20% of people after a traumatic experience. It is diagnosed in people whose symptoms persist for more than a month after the traumatic event. The basis of PTSD treatment is psychotherapy, often combined with pharmacotherapy (antidepressants and antianxiety drugs). Hemp cannabinoids, including: CBD may support the treatment of post-traumatic stress.
CBD and cancer – can hemp support cancer treatment?
According to data from the Central Statistical Office from 2020, cancer is the second most common cause of death in Poland. Research into alternative cancer therapies is being conducted around the world, and hemp phytocannabinoids, including: CBD is one of the groups of substances being tested. Scientific publications demonstrate the beneficial effects of cannabis in alleviating the side effects of invasive cancer treatments.

According to the 11th edition of the World Health Organization's classification of diseases, ICD-11, there are several types of eating disorders in adolescents and adults, of which the three most frequently diagnosed are: anorexia, bulimia and binge eating.
